The Golden Ticket

Dear Parents, Mentors, Support and Counsel,

You MAY be, or feel like one of the primary influences in the life of an individual who faces issues resulting in decreased independence physically, mentally, spiritually and/ or financially, life.

Discussing money in today’s world is a double-edged sword.  Even I am getting to the point where I feel a bit of guilt doing what’s best for my future.  Being able to pay bills, cover costs and contribute to grocery expenses has evolved into what an “independent adult” should be able to handle.

Even with those needs covered with assistance if you can line it up, being able to cover your own living expenses will make you feel more dignified in life.  That’s what I’m finding anyways.

Individuals with special needs, no matter how unique, can feel empowered and more in control being more responsible for their financial independence.  Take it from me.  I am currently 20 years post life-changing auto accident.  It has left it harder to find a reliable and legitimate source of income.

I wish somebody had showed me how useful taking advantage of technology and processes could be!

Focusing on rebuilding your entire life is more than most could even handle.  Financial independence in part may be at the bottom of your priority list.  That’s fine.  When certain stressors allow room for reprioritization, don’t be afraid.  I’ve spent years and years in schooling and recovery mode.  Creating a sustainable source of income is not easy.  Especially playing by everybody else’s rules!

20 years of throwing everything thinkable at the wall is a bit disheartening too.

Take these guidelines to the next level in your life and “the bull by the horns” if you want to see progress in that area WHILE actually practicing your social skills and dominating the game!  See page 1 of this post for initial step by step guidelines to kick your life into gear!
